Cricket continues to flourish at St George’s. The elevation of the Proteas to the No 1 position in both the test and ODI rankings and their recent exciting series win in Australia has been a major boost to the game in this country and we have a number of young, aspiring Protea players in our ranks.
Our teams have acquitted themselves well in the various leagues and the results have been impressive.
Our teams practice twice a week and we also have the use of the EP cricket facilities at St George’s Park (which is the oldest test venue in the country). We have the exclusive use of the Union ‘B’ field and have upgraded the facilities at this field.
The U13A team once again had a good season to date and there were some outstanding individual performances in the first term.. Ofie Howard and Josh Loyson are just two of the talented players in our U13A X1 who have the potential to get very far in the game.

2011 report

Cricket continues to flourish at St George’s. Our teams have acquitted themselves well in the various leagues and the results have been most impressive. Brawn is to be congratulated on winning the inter-house title.

The U13A team once again had a good season and there were some outstanding individual performances during the season. Guto Ocharo and Nathan Isaac led the team well, both boys being very talented cricketers with bright futures ahead of them. Nathan was a deserving winner of the ‘Cricketer of the Year’ award. Special mention must be made of Oscar Jensen who shows a great deal of promise as a spinner. Andrew Christodolou and Caleb Loyson both represented the U13A team on a number of occasions this year, despite only being in Grade 5 and both Andrew and Caleb have the potential to go very far in the game. Andrew scored heavily for the U13A team throughout the year and he was unlucky not to have been selected for the Eastern Province U11 team.

My sincere thanks go to all of our parents for their support over the year and for assisting with transport. I would also like to thank our fantastic student coaches led by Mr Brett Mclaren – your efforts are greatly appreciated.
