St George's Preparatory School has always taken community service very seriously, as we believe it is of vital importance that our pupils learn to care for and interact with those less fortunate than themselves.

Some background to the competition:
The Day of Love - on 14 February 2011 St Georges pupils got into the spirit of Valentines' Day by wearing red civvies to school. Pupils were asked to bring R5.00 to school to purchase a "I Love This" sticker, produced by the Heart Foundation in order to create an awareness of heart disease. The Grade 4 classes organised the process.
The proceeds from the sale of the stickers went to the Heart and Stroke Children's Programme. The money was handed over at Assembly on Friday 25 February.
Grade 4 visit to Animal Welfare Term 3 2011 By the Grade 4s of St George's Prep
Grade 4s visited Animal Welfare with great excitement and loads of animal food, donated by our school. We were very happy to see that people love and care for our furry friends, as many people visited while we were present.
The dogs were very happy to be out of their cages and feel special and loved for a short while, when we took them for walks. This is always a special day for us and we all had tons of fun.
